Guidelines
The following guidelines are in regard to the technical aspects of the game—how the game is played, character limits for players and other things. Please don’t skip over this section, give it a good look over before you apply.

A Note About Gender, Sex and Sexuality In Game
-This is a Sailormoon game. In the Sailormoon universe, there are seven male characters that could be considered real 'sailor soldier' type characters (Tubby Kamen, Adonis from SailorV, Mamoru as Tuxedo Kamen and Tsukikage no Knight and the Shitennou) and over fifteen female characters that are actual sailor soldiers. Keeping with this idea, please make sure that male characters do not outnumber female characters. If they do, please apply for a female character.
-If the ratio of female to male characters becomes too upset, I will put a hold on applications of that specific gender. While they will still be accepted, they will not be reviewed until the hold is lifted.
-Also, Mythos is not a slash game. The majority of OSU students are not homosexual, and the game's population should reflect this. It's okay to have a few characters who are interested in the same sex, but not everyone. At most, 10-20% of the cast can be homosexual.
-A character's sexuality (gay, straight, or otherwise) is only a small part of their personality at large. Sexuality should not play a major role in a character's persona, unless it is absolutely important (and in some way relevant to the god or goddess). If I feel that the focus on sexuality is too overwhelming, I will ask you to revise your application.
-No sex, please. This is primarily to avoid violating statutory law, as there is a chance that some participants may be underage. What is allowed, then? Kissing, hugging, insinuation of sexual acts, nudity for comedy/drama/art's sake. If you do have a log or an image, please tag it clearly as being NWS (not work safe) or NC-17. Also, do NOT place a thumbnail of a NWS image up for people to see.

Participation & The Timeline
-The movement and tracking of Mythos’s storyline will rely heavily upon timelines. On top of the main timeline featured on the main page, players are responsible for maintaining one timeline for each of their characters.
-One point on the timeline is called a tick. Each tick contains one-sentence descriptions of what happened on a particular date with link(s) to log(s) if applicable.
-Not every tick on the timeline requires a log. In order to make participation as painless as possible, it’s perfectly fine to have some points on the timeline that have no log. Important points, however, (power ups, major character development, big battles) will require a log.
-If you are unsure of whether or not a point will require a log, you should probably write a log anyway. While logs aren’t required for all plot points, no plot point could do without a log.
-All points on all timelines must be OK’d with the GM before they are uploaded. If I feel that a plot point needs a log/story/episode, you will have to write one.
-For clarification on anything regarding logs and the timeline, please contact me.

Character Limits
-Mythos’s character limit is three per player. However, this does not mean that one person can simultaneously submit three applications. After your first character is accepted, two conditions must be met before a second character can be applied for:
1. Your character must be the feature of or a participant at east ten ticks and four logs on the main timeline, or they must have seven logs overall.
2. You must have been in the game for two weeks. If the first requirement is met before two weeks membership has passed, you must still wait until the end of the two week period before you can apply for a second character.
-Third characters are only awarded to extremely active players who want them and a list of deity names, with elements, will be provided for you. You cannot ask for a third character, you will be emailed privately if I feel that you have been an active enough member. You do not have to take a third character if you don’t want to.

In-Play Rules
-Logs can be written in any style (first, second or third) and either present or past tense (no future tense, unless you’ve discussed it with the GM). They can be written in traditional novel format, or done completely in script style. This ensures that things happen frequently and the plot is constantly moving.
-Logs (stories/episodes) can vary greatly in length and number of participants. Submitting a one-person two-page scene is just as fine as submitting a six-person ten-page story. Logs that get too lengthy will be split up into parts.
-Writing a story or log can be accomplished over any medium: chat, email, instant messages, a pencil and paper, a word document. Whatever you’re most comfortable with.

-Don’t be afraid to write for another person’s character and don’t be afraid to have someone else write something for your character for you. This isn’t plagiarism, and there won’t be a problem with any players playing god in this game, so you have nothing to worry about.
-Please play nice with everyone else, and if you have a problem with another player, the absolute worst thing you could do is write about it to another member or in your live journal or on a journal like bad_rpers_suck. This could get you in trouble and give the game itself a bad reputation. If you have a problem COME TO ME FIRST. I will attempt to fix the problem as best I can.
-All players are given permission to write for both Sailor Geras and Sailor Stigma. Think of them as YOUR NPCs. Any important character points should be brought up with me before they are followed through, of course, but other than that, you have the right to use either character in any story…although Geras will be making more appearances than Stigma.

-Once finished, all logs should be submitted to ilovemythos@gmail.com with the subject MYTHOS LOG: (TITLE), even if they are personal stories that will only be on the character’s timeline. If you didn’t think of a title, I reserve the right to come up with one for you, and I assure you, it will be a bad title.
-The story itself should be attached to the email in either a txt or html file. It should not be uploaded. I will read the story and do some editing, and then email you back saying it’s good to go. If there are any problems I will address them in the reply email.
-In the body of the email, please list the following: primary characters (the story’s focus, characters who were in the majority of the story), secondary characters (characters who showed up late in the story, weren’t heavily involved in its plot, or only made a cameo), approximate story date, what timeline its intended for (main timeline or character-specific), whether or not you can upload it to your own server, and a very short synopsis of what happens. Example:

Subject: MYTHOS LOG: Something Fishy This Way Comes
Body:
Primary: Amphitrite
Secondary: Geras
Date: Mid/Late-August
Timeline: Main & Personal
Upload: Please upload for me!
Synopsis: A day-in-the-life story featuring Rosemary where she is constantly bombarded with aquatic symbolism. It culminates with her venturing to the MYTHOS house to find that she’s actually the soldier of fish, Sailor Amphitrite.

Regarding GMing, Councils and Application Review Process
-I’m the only GM. There will be no co-GMs, council members or reviewers. Please do not ask to help with running the game.
-If, for some reason, I am having trouble deciding on an application, I will post the application for other members to see, and they can offer their opinions on the application. Players with more ticks on the timeline (i.e. more participation) will have more pull in situations like this.

-The application has a section asking whether or not you would mind your review posted up where other people can see. If you decide to allow the review to be posted up and are not happy with your review results, I will not take the review back down. I will do my best to remain helpful and unrude. My job is to help you improve, not to embarrass you for your mistakes.
