-Once you've picked out a deity name to make your Sailor or Hoplite, the first thing you should do before anything else is do research on that mythological figure. There are a ton of websites on the internet with information about mythology and you should be checking them. theoi.com, wikipedia and pantheon.org are all great places to start. Having trouble with appearance? Just look for images or descriptions of the figure you've chosen and use that as inspiration. Is your list of likes and dislikes kind of skimpy? Maybe the goddess you picked is also a patron of weaving or pottery--so your character could be into knitting or raku.

-If you're still at a loss for personality, the best thing to do is to start out with a stereotype and evolve it. I call this the Pokemon method. Here's an example. Nerdy. What kind? Quiet, studious nerd. More specific? Quiet indie nerd. What kind of Indie? Quiet, independent movie buff nerd. What character am I working with again? SailorMousa. The "Muse". So maybe she has a lot of sisters? So maybe her family is kind of down on their luck? Quiet nerdy independent film buff who's the eldest daughter of a lower-working class family, she's at college because she got a great scholarship because she worked so hard in school. Anything else? Wants to become the president of the United States.
You can use this method to go from one word to a decently sized character outline!

-When creating powers for your character, don't be afraid to make them offensive/heavy damaging attacks with not too much recoil. Too many applicants in sailormoon games have been frightened by the "Don't destroy the world with three words" rule that every game used to have creating a slew of sailor soldiers who could only restrain or apply illusions to an enemy. You will not enter SuperSaiyinGODMODE!!1!!! in this game. Simple as that. If it happens once, the section will be rewritten. If it happens more than once, you will be removed from the game. This way, I don't have to worry about someone being too powerful and you can have your "destroy the world in three words" attack if you really want to.

-I understand that coming up with sailor attacks can be difficult. Please research your chosen mythological figure, because there's always going to be one or two things associated with them that you might think "Hey, that's pretty cool!" and use it in an attack ( i.e. Eos had fiery horses/dew dropped from her hands). I'll let most really obscure things go, but please do not overlap (Artemis with a moon-based attack, when there's clearly a Selene) or be too arbitrary (Hades with a time-based ability, because Hades = Pluto = SailorPluto).
