Another school year at the Ohio State University is about to begin. Terrified freshmen move into cramped dorms and try their hardest to meet new people in an alien setting; older students meet up with friends and head out to get a drink or play frisbee on the oval; The hot September sun beats town on High Street as people scramble from store to store buying school supplies and trying to find the cheapest prices for books. Everything is normal. Everyone is busy. No one's noticed the Cold War raging between the MYTHOS organization and Alpha Mu Omega, but the people of Columbus, Ohio are about to.

Five years ago, the face of a nineteen-year-old male was pasted on every bulletin board, streetlight and window in Columbus. The young man had disappeared, only to reappear again several weeks later, changed, both physically and mentally, so that his parents could hardly recognize him.
A religious fraternity by the name of Alpha Mu Omega gained quite a bit of publicity--and notoriety--for being the "savior" of this boy. Although he did reappear after being missing for some time, he had become something strange--a completely different person, and not in a good way.

Mythos is set in Columbus, Ohio and is centrally located on the Ohio State University main campus. This game takes place in modern times and the story is starting at the beginning of the new school year. What year it is exactly is undefined (to avoid the problems dealing with pop culture/fashion/music/theater evolution), but it can be assumed to be present day--the year 20XX.
Almost a decade ago, in Japan, Sailor Moon and her allies battled the forces of evil that plagued the earth. Although they are celebrated heroes in Japan still, Sailor Moon and her sailor soldiers have not been sighted in years, and in places like the United States, many people don't know or care about her. The Sailor Soldiers are busy with their own lives, and will not be making an appearance in this game.
