the arena

"The gods constructed a circular shrine atop a great sacred mountain. Legends say the gods created this shrine to defy themselves and as if to prove this legend the path to the shrine was a cascade of stairs that human feet could never step upon.

'If to gods do not wish us to enter the shrine of legend then we shall construct a second shrine for them to come to us.'

There fore this second shrine stood next to the mountain. All who visited the shrine surrounded by clouds and divine light felt as if they were floating in air. What could have been the hopes and bows of people standing on this shrine looking at the circular shrine of legend in the distance? And of Sophitia…"
-The Official Soul Calibur Website (now down)

Sophitia's signature arena is Soul Calibur is nothing too spectacular. Everything it lacks in the beautiful background animations that are present in some other arenas, it more than makes up for in simplicity for battle in Arcade Mode. Unlike many other arenas in Soul Calibur, the Shrine of Eurydice is highly unandorned. However, it is very beatiful in its simplicity.
The only major challange you may have in this arena is in adventure mode, where Sophitia becomes -incredibly- hard to battle at later levels, and the 'wind blows you off the edge' feature makes things even more difficult.

Soul Calibur II really skimped on the arena variety. Sophitia's signature arena is nothing more than Cassandra's. I haven't fought enough in this arena to give a detailed report of the mechanics of fighting here <information forthcoming>
