ENDING SYNOPSIS *spoilers galore.--This site could use some revising. I was retarded when I wrote this. :/ Sorry guys.
Final Fantasy Tactics ends rather abruptly, with the airship exploding as Altima calls out for 'more power'. The ending is very ambiguous: Is Ramza dead? Why did Delita stab Ovelia? What did Delita mean by "Ramza... What did you get?"
This section hopes to clear things up for you a bit. However, I am biased toward the theory that Ramza survived, so if you're looking for definite reasons why Ramza is pining for the fjords, this is not the place to look.

In the section about squires, I explain the life of a young boy trying to attain knighthood. He starts out as a page, becomes a squire, and usually by age tweny-one becomes a knight. Well now, let's insert this into the Final Fantasy Tactics storyline, eh? The entire story is filled with discouraging events that lead up to the greatest cliff hanger and pisser ever. First, after chasing Teta all through chapter one, you can't save her (1) and end up killing Algus. Ramza looses Delita(2) to the world of pig-headed buttholes, and meets up with Ovelia. Ovelia is captured(3) and though Ramza tries incredibly hard, never ends up really rescuing her (4). Ramza looses all faith in the church when he discovers their secret plot and the use of the Zodiac Stones(5) and his sister is stolen away from him(6). In chasing after his sister, Ramza meets Izlude, who is his enemy. Izlude converts to the side of good in his last moments on earth (7). And finally, Ramza reaches his sister and saves her ... but the airship explodes... is Ramza' dead?
Ramza starts out the game as a squire of age 16. His father dies and wishes him to "become a fine knight". The entire game averagely spans until Ramza is age 21-22 and ends without him becoming a knight. Yet another dissapointment, eh?
Next, in the cemetary scene, it's almost too obvious that Alma and Ramza are dead. However, how did they find Alma's 'body' and not Ramza's? Did they just WALTZ down into Murond Death City and pick up the peices? And why didn't they find Orlandu, and Agrias, and that hyped up Ninja/Bard you made out of boredom? It's another church conspiracy. They probably want the people to believe that Ramza and Alma are dead so that no one finds out about the Zodiac Braves and that Orlandu isn't really dead.
Other things that point to Ramza not being dead:
1. How many minions of Lucavi and otherwise exploded in Ramza's face? Sure, that's Altima, but really Altima is just another Zodiac Brave. He/She/It is not the supreme Zodiac Being. The bloody angel is simply Ajora's form when he exchanged his soul for eternal power and life.
2. Ghosts can't manipulate things in this realm. How are Ramza and Alma riding chocobos?
3. Ghost chocobos don't need water :P

Now that we've established that Ramza survived, we'll delve into Delita's story. It's Ovelia's birthday and she's dissapeared. Everyone is looking for her, but Delita is the first one to find her. He approaches her slowly, holding something behind his back and explaining that everyone is looking for her. Ovelia stands and starts raving about how Delita used Ramza and killed him, and how he used Orlandu and killed him, too. If he did that to his best friend, why wouldn't he do it to her. She rushes him and stabs him in the side. In a bout of rage, Delita rips the dagger out of him and stabs Ovelia. She slups to the ground, dead.
Delita stumbles off to the side of the screen. Whispers "Ramza ... what did you get? I..." and stumbles off. First off, Ovelia died, not Delita. It's stated that Delita was a legendary king who lived a long reign. Ovelia stabbed Delita, not vice versa, so Delita isn't the horrible monster many people believe him to be. He just needs to control his anger and decide what's self defense and what's just stupid.
